What's New
From January 2012 we will start a very special offer for those interested in trying out our martial art. We have cut the 12 week beginners course by 25% from €120 to €90 for a single member if you pay upfront. But better still is that if you bring a friend to the beginners course to start training with you on the first night of enrolment, we will offer the 12 week course to both of you for only €75 each. That’s only slightly over €3 per night.
Welcome to the Bujinkan Dwyer Dojo School of Martial Arts
Bujinkan Budō Taijutsu (more commonly known as Ninjutsu or combat Jujutsu) is a Japanese martial art drawing from nine schools of classical Japanese martial arts, together into a single study.
This system was created by the current Grandmaster of these schools, Dr. Masaaki Hatsumi (Soke). The schools taught under the banner of the Bujinkan Dōjō are:
- Togakure Ryu Ninpō
- Gyokko Ryu Koshijutsu
- Koto Ryu Koppojutsu
- Kukishinden Ryu Happō Biken
- Shinden Fudo Ryu Dakentaijutsu
- Takagi Yōshin Ryu Jutaijutsu
- Kumogakure Ryu Ninpo
- Gyokushin Ryu Ninpo
- Gikan Ryu Koppojutsu
These arts are taught together as the martial art of Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu, but also studied separately as individual schools depending on the instructor. Students Grades/Licenses are issued in Budo Taijutsu from the Hombu Dojo in Japan, and the modern curriculum teaches multiple fighting skills drawn from the various schools, such as punching, kicking, throwing, locks, ground fighting, rolling and breakfalling techniques.
Students also study traditionl weapons training, please see our weapons training page for more information.
We also teach dedicated beginners courses that are designed to be slow-paced, fun and very easy to learn. 2012 will also see the launch of our new self-defence programme.
So please look around the site and let me know if there is anything I can help you with regarding training or injury. Remember the first class is free for you to try our art out!!!
Wishing you well in your search for martial arts,
Marcus Dwyer
